HP StorageWorks 2000fc Modular Smart Array
The HP StorageWorks 2000fc G2 Modular Smart Array features support for the new HP 300GB 10K SAS small form factor (SFF) 2.5 inch hard drive for maximum density and performance. Also included is a faster processor, higher capacity, increased snapshot capability and support for both the HP-UX operating system and the powerful line of Integrity servers.

The HP Insight Dynamics - VSE suite for ProLiant servers is advanced infrastructure management software that allows you to analyze and optimize physical and virtual resources in the same way. HP Insight Dynamics - VSE gives you a powerful toolkit to accelerate complex technology projects and simplify daily operations. It enables you to plan capacity and power continuously, provision infrastucture consistently, and balance across physical and virtual resources. It also allows you to ensure cost-effective high availability for a larger set of applications.
The Insight Dynamics - VSE is integrated by design, delivering capabilities greater than the sum of its parts. HP Insight Dynamics - VSE is based on proven HP technologies, such as HP Virtual Server Environment, HP Insight Control and HP Systems Insight Manager, the world’s most popular platform management tool. HP Insight Dynamics – VSE takes advantage of HP Virtual Connect to bring the flexibility of virtualization to a physical environment.
Also announcing today, the 9th generation HP Smart Array family offering 200% greater performance and 100% backward compatibility, with prices starting under $200! The initial list of hardware expansion modules includes 256MB and 512MB read cache modules and optional battery modules for scalable performance and increased reliability. In addition, the new SmartArray Advanced Pack software option can be enabled through a simple license string to further enhance performance, reliability and availability of storage with the addition of RAID 6 (Advanced Data Guarding), RAID 60, a new secure disk erase function and performance acceleration modes for applications such as video streaming.

The next-generation workstation infrastructure, now double-dense with two workstations combined into a single, small-foot print BL c-Class half-height blade. Combines up to two Quad-Core or Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors, NVIDIA Quadro FX 770M workstation graphics, and the powerful HP Remote Graphics Software together per workstation for each user. HP xw2x220c workstation delivers uncompromised workstation-class compute power with data center class power-efficiency, very high density, scalability, availability and security, all without access location boundaries.

VMware Updates
I’m happy to announce that the VI Toolkit for Windows 1.5 was released last night.
The VI Toolkit is a great automation tool and if you manage more than about 20 VMs or deploy VMs or ESX hosts on a regular basis you should check it out, it can really save you a lot of time and effort when you’re making updates across large numbers of objects. Some popular uses include things like cloning VMs 50 or 100 times and creating virtual switches across multiple ESX servers. The most exciting new feature is the ability to execute scripts inside the VM guest, made possible by our integration with the VIX library.
